2. Is your Thule load carrier of the types Thule Rapid Fixpoint XT 751 or Thule Rapid Fixpoint XT Low 753, using one of the affected Rapid Fixpoint Fitting Kits?

Thule makes load carriers for all types of car roofs and for the cars listed there may exist several possible alternatives. To identify if your load carrier is of the affected type see the following descriptions:

Your car has a roof railing and your Thule load carrier is of the type that grips around the railing.	Your Thule load carrier is of the type that grips around the edge of the car roof, using a metal bracket.	Your load carrier is bolted into pre-installed fixation points, integrated in the car roof (often found under a small hatch)
Not affected.	Not affected	You may have one of the affected load carriers, continue to step 3.

3. Did you buy your Rapid Fixpoint XT load carrier any time after 1 January 2008?

If Yes, continue to step 4.
If No, your Thule load carrier is still very safe to use

4. Which component of my load carrier is the faulty one?

A Thule Rapid Fixpoint XT 751 or 753 load carrier consists of three components:

Footpack: Rapid Fixpoint XT 751 Rapid Fixpoint XT 753	Thule Load bars: Square, plastic coated steel Aero, aluminium	Thule Rapid Fixpoint XT Kit
Not affected	Not affected	This products include the defected bolts and usage should be stopped immediately

 
5. How shall I proceed if I have the defected bolt?

Please stop using your load carrier immediately. Return the bolts to the retailer it was purchased from so that replacement bolts can be ordered from Thule direct. You can double check the bolts revision with its color: “Problem” bolt = black & Correct bolt = silver. If your local shop is too far away you can also use the form on this web site "contact form" to retrieve the bolts directly from our customer service department in Germany.
